2004

After the extreme hot vintage 2003 we put all our hope in a “normal” season 2004!

The season started pretty well and relaxed without attracting any attention. In summer we had some rainfalls just at the right time to ensure the water supply of the vines. Nice cool nights since mid of August were the best conditions for a timely growing and ripening. September started to be pretty wet, but cooler temperatures made the fruits resistent against botrytis. And we could wait with picking until the grapes showed nice ripe fruit aromas with a moderate acidity.

All in all a vintage offering us wines with a moderate sugar-acidity balance and due to our strict vineyard management we had hardly any problems with botrytis.
