The 2007 vintage was particulary smooth in winter and spring. Budbreak arrived pretty early. We saw a lower-than-average rainfall. Healthy flowering led to a very even fruit set, with few heat spikes during the season. Early veraison and warm temperatures just before harvest led to a fast fruit ripening. But we had no hurry with picking because there was no rain and the fruits could spend additional time on the vines being picked very ripen without any botrytis. By all accounts the wines show varietal integrity, depth and concentration.
